It’s hard not get excited about fall in the Pocono Mountains. There’s a crispness in the air, the leaves begin to change into a sea of reds and yellows, and the events in town are fun for everyone. The fall season is a busy time of year, but for all the right reasons. The Pocono Mountains come alive each autumn with Oktoberfest events perfect for getting into the spirit of the season. Oktoberfest events in the Pocono Mountains are a must to add to your calendar when visiting the area.
In addition to Oktoberfest events, the Pocono Mountains offer visitors and locals many events throughout the year. Our Delaware Highlands Vacation Guide is a helpful tool for first timers or locals who want to know the best of what the area has to offer. The guide is free and also includes The Settlers Inn exclusives!
Here Are Just a Few of Our Favorite Oktoberfest Events Happening This Fall
Since the 1970s, Honesdale has been celebrating Honesdale Oktoberfest. Each year the events take place over a three-day weekend in August. The Alpine Wurst and Meat House Restaurant hosts the event each year with a large tent that seats over 1,000 people. There will be live music and dancing, plenty of food and lots of beer. There is a cover charge to enter the event with food and drink an additional charge. The event is scheduled to return in 2023.
Another fall event to look forward to is Oktoberfest at Vault 240. The event will feature beer, seasonal food from Alpine Wurst and Meat House and live music. This event on October 1 is part of the Downtown Hawley Partnership’s annual Hawley Harvest Hoedown, a celebration of the season that includes entertainment, food, and lots of fun!
Downtown Honesdale will come to life October 8 and 9 for the annual Harvest and Heritage Days Festival. The streets will be lined with craft vendors and plenty of fall food vendors so be sure to come hungry. The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The Harvest and Heritage Days is a fun time of year to get out and meet the people in the town and also to take in the beautiful fall foliage.
The always-exciting Hawley Harvest Hoedown features a range of traditional fall activities including cider tastings, crafts, family activities, plenty of food and lots of entertainment (like Oktoberfest at Vault 240). Be sure you don’t miss the finale concert at The Ritz Theatre on Saturday night at 8 p.m. Admission to the festival is free with select events charging a fee.
A Stay at The Settlers Inn Is the Perfect Idea for a Fall Getaway!
Of course one of our favorite events to look forward to each fall is our very own Storytelling Dinner. Each year more than 100 pumpkins are creatively carved down to the finest detail and put on display for all to enjoy. This year’s Storytelling Dinner will take place on October 28 and 29
